Green Trail Lawn Care ("Green Trail," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website greentraillawncare.com (the "Site") and provides residential lawn care and landscaping services in midtown Toronto, Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site, our quote request forms, our advertising on third-party platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and any other point at which you provide information to us.
We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By using the Site or requesting our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you request a quote, book a service, contact us, or respond to one of our ads, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, service address, property details (such as lot size, existing landscaping, and photos you upload), the services you are interested in, and any message you send us. If you become a client, we also collect billing details, service history, gate codes or access instructions you choose to share, and notes about your property and preferences.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our website platform and advertising tools may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and how you interact with the Site. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 4.
Information from advertising platforms. If you submit your details through a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta sends us the information you entered in that form, which typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and answers to any qualifying questions.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. Our services are offered to property owners and adult decision makers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
Respond to quote requests and questions, prepare estimates, and schedule site visits
Deliver, schedule, and manage the services you purchase, including crew routing and access to your property
Send service confirmations, appointment reminders, invoices, and receipts
Send marketing emails or text messages about our services, seasonal programs, and promotions, where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by CASL
Measure the performance of our website and advertising, and understand which ads and pages lead to quote requests
Show you relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms, and build audiences of people similar to our clients
Protect the security of the Site, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
We only use your information for the purposes it was collected for, or for purposes you would reasonably expect. If we want to use it for a materially different purpose, we will ask for your consent first.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to perform their work. These include:
Jobber. We use Jobber (jobber.com) to run our quote forms, scheduling, invoicing, client records, and client communications. Information you submit through our quote request form is stored in Jobber. Jobber processes this information on our behalf under its own privacy policy, available at getjobber.com/privacy-policy.
Squarespace. Our Site is hosted on Squarespace, which processes site visitor data, including technical information and any forms hosted natively on the Site, in order to deliver the Site. Squarespace's privacy policy is available at squarespace.com/privacy.
Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). We advertise on Meta platforms and use Meta's business tools, which may include the Meta Pixel, the Conversions API, and Meta Lead Ads. Through these tools, Meta may receive information about your visit to the Site and actions you take on it (such as viewing a page or submitting a quote request), as well as hashed contact details used for ad measurement and audience matching. Meta uses this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy and its Business Tools Terms. You can control how Meta uses your data for ads through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
Payment processors. If you pay us electronically, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store full credit card numbers on our own systems.
Professional advisors and authorities. We may disclose information to our accountants, lawyers, or insurers as needed, and to law enforcement, courts, or regulators where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Business transfers. If Green Trail is sold, merged, or transfers substantially all of its assets, client information may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Some of these providers store information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is outside Canada, it may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities under the laws of that jurisdiction.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. The Site uses the following kinds of cookies and similar technologies:
Strictly necessary cookies set by Squarespace so the Site functions correctly, such as remembering your session and security settings.
Analytics cookies that tell us how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived at the Site, so we can improve it.
Advertising cookies and pixels, including the Meta Pixel, that record your visit to the Site and the actions you take there. This allows us to measure whether our ads result in quote requests and to show relevant ads to you and to people with similar interests on Facebook and Instagram.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though blocking necessary cookies may affect how the Site works. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from Meta through your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and from participating advertisers through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca.
5. Email and Text Message Marketing
We send commercial electronic messages only in accordance with CASL. You may receive marketing emails or texts from us if you have given us express consent, if you are an existing client and we are contacting you within the period CASL permits, or if you have made an inquiry and we are responding within the period CASL permits.
Every marketing email or text we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing liam@greentraillawncare.com or replying STOP to a text message. We will process your request within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from marketing messages does not stop transactional messages such as appointment reminders and invoices for services you have purchased.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Client records, invoices, and service history are kept for the duration of our relationship and for at least seven years afterward to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Quote requests that do not become client relationships are kept for up to two years so we can follow up on seasonal work. Website analytics and advertising data are kept for the retention periods set by the relevant platform, which for Meta is generally up to 180 days for Pixel event data. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, and misuse. These include password-protected accounts with limited access, secure cloud platforms, and restricting access to client information to team members who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you and be told how it has been used and disclosed
Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services
Opt out of marketing communications and interest-based advertising as described in Sections 4 and 5
Ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including our social media pages, Google Business Profile, and review platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site or communicated to clients directly. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
